Atypical grid usage

Reduce grid fees by shaving in regulatory high-load windows.

If you want to shave peak loads in high-load windows (Hochlastzeitfenster, HLZF), you can enter the voltage level and the high-load windows of your distribution network operator (DSO). In that case Furo only shaves the peak loads inside those windows. That reduces your grid fees (Netzentgelte) in a targeted way instead of lowering the highest load of the year across the board.

Atypical grid usage: the battery only shaves the peak load in the high-load window, the peak in the afternoon remains

Requirements

At least 100 kW of peak load in the high-load windows. The significance threshold (Erheblichkeitsschwelle, the minimum reduction) depends on the voltage level: 10% at extra-high/high voltage (HöS/HS), 20% at high/medium voltage (HS/MS), 30% at medium/low voltage (MS/NS). At least 100 kW of peak reduction and at least €500 of annual savings. The savings are capped at 80% of the original grid fees.

How to set it up in Furo

Under "Tariff & grid fees" (step 3 in Plan) you enable atypical grid usage (atypische Netznutzung) and enter the voltage level and the time windows.

If your peak load is below 100 kW, Furo points that out in the form. Whether the significance threshold inside the high-load windows is met only shows in the analysis.
